The Faculty of Humanities invites applications for the following position of Salary Scale W3 NBesO starting as soon as possible:

University professorship (m/f/d) in German as a second and foreign language

The Position

  • Central leading position in the teaching and research field of German as a Second and Foreign Language (DaZ/DaF)
  • Excellent linguistic research in the areas of DaZ/DaF, multilingualism, and/or language acquisition, with an additional focus on ​​language-sensitive subject-specific teaching
  • Strategic and innovative further development of the aforementioned research areas, including interdisciplinary options
  • Strong commitment to acquiring third-party funding and initiating research collaborations
  • Significant shaping of the linguistic offerings in the German Department's degree programmes covering the entire spectrum of German linguistics and in particular in the areas of second language acquisition, first language acquisition and multilingualism
  • Leading role in the profiling of teaching in the professionalization area (Professionalisierungsbereich) for all teacher training courses with content responsibility for the cross-cutting topic of DaZ/DaF and leading coordination of all subject didactics for the area of language sensitivity in close cooperation with the Leibniz School of Education (LSE)
