University Professorship (m/f/d) in Education in the field of Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties

The Position

The University Professorship is to represent the subject of education in the field of Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties in teaching and research. 

The holder of this position is involved in the degree programmes “Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Special Needs Education” (polyvalent), “Master of Education (MEd) in Special Needs Education” and “Master (MA) of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation Sciences”. Courses on subject-specific basics as well as on subject-related questions of development, diagnostics, (school-based) support and didactics in the field of Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties must be offered. The research should address theoretical and empirical perspectives on aspects of education focussing Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.

Your Profile

The successful candidate is expected to have a relevant research profile in the context of education in the field of Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. An emphasis in at least two of the following research areas is desirable:

  • School-based and instructional support

  • Educational Diagnostics, prevention, intervention and counselling

  • Interagency Collaboration and supervision

  • extra-curricular education

The research approach can be either quantitative or qualitative. Experience in acquiring external funding is desired.

An interest in cooperation at the Institute of Special Education and in interdisciplinary research and teaching, especially with the Institute of Psychology and the Institute of Education, is expected. The professorship is also expected to participate in international research collaborations. It is expected that selected courses will be taught in English.
