University Professorship (m/f/d) in
Nature Conservation with Focus on Fauna
The Position
The professorship's main areas of research and teaching are:
- Scientific principles, methods and goals of nature conservation, especially for the protection of faunal biodiversity in the face of climate change and the biodiversity crisis
- Approaches for the integration of scientific content into planning and governance processes
- Teaching is aimed at students of landscape architecture and environmental planning and, in addition to lectures on planning-related plant ecology, includes in particular mapping exercises in the field
Your Profile
Required are:
- Several years of experience in the recording and nature conservation assessment of a group of animal species relevant to nature conservation
- In-depth knowledge of the goals and measures of faunistic nature conservation at different spatial scales
- Good methodical knowledge of the recording and nature conservation assessment of the fauna
- Willingness to also teach courses in German
- Willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation within and outside the faculty
Of advantage are:
- Good knowledge of Central European wildlife relevant to nature conservation and their habitat requirements
- Experience in obtaining research funding
